Approach
Multi-instrumentalist and producer Sid Vashi's album was made as a space-opera. Azuma Kazuma is about a mining prospector for a corporate conglomerate operating in deep space, lost and looking to get home as he comes upon different worlds blooming in space. The artist approached us as he imagined each chapter (song) to be a dense and visual world that comes to life in reflecting the emotion behind each song. For the primary album artwork we created a deep purple and cold space enivironment contrasted by beautiful blooming flora that recognized the sonic hope within the album. For the individual songs, each artwork was designed within the collage framework with a variety of collages and creatures that come to life through motion design. This was my first time trying my hand at motion design.

Approach
For the actual event, we manifested a digital 2D collages into tactile elements to create an environment for the audience to immerse in. The stage was adorned with rocks and foliage that mimicked asteroids and ferns from the collages. Each member of the band stood before a larger-than-life display of five LED screens that were synched to the performance of each song (chapter) with their unique visual elements moving across the entire backdrop – an almost hypnotic experience. With long nights and multiple rehearsals, we finally got lighting, visuals and sound design right leading to a hugely successful album launch tour across multiple Indian cities and venues.
